Professor Dr. Mohammad Shariar Shovon

Hello, I am Dr. Mohammad Shariar Shovon, a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Rajshahi University

As a research enthusiast, my research endeavors are centered around clarifying the evolutionary histories of land freshwater mollusks in South Asia and exploring the chemical ecology of mollusks in Bangladesh. I am deeply involved in investigating bioactive compounds in various biological species and the biodiversity and bio-conservation of endangered tree snail species in Bangladesh.

Currently, using local and global collaboration, I am studying the activity of proteins from different mollusks and exploring their potential in nanomedicine. Additionally, I am investigating signaling molecules using the latest scientific instruments and techniques. Through these interdisciplinary collaborations, I aim to advance our understanding of molecular biology and contribute to the fields of bio conservation and chemical ecology. Furthermore, by integrating molecular biology with ecological studies, I hope to shed light on the intricate relationships between organisms and their environment. Ultimately, my goal is to develop innovative solutions for conservation efforts and sustainable resource management in South Asia.

Besides, I am also working as a guest lecturer for the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) program at Shinshu University, Matsumoto, Japan.
